The Amazon Mission, Inc.
Mission, Vision & Core Values
Our Mission is to glorify God by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Amazon Triple Frontier Region where Peru, Brazil, and Colombia meet. From this vital crossroads, we reach outward to bring the Good News to the most distant and unreached places. The Amazon Mission, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to biblically equipping and training faithful servants to plant, prepare, and strengthen churches. Through prayer, seminary-based training, and the distribution of biblical resources, we empower pastors and believers to reach their neighboring communities with the Good News Gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Our Vision is to carry the light of Christ into the most remote and unreached regions along the Amazon River, places where the name of Jesus has seldom been heard and where access to the Gospel is limited. We are driven by the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” With hearts devoted to obedience and compassion, TAMI seeks to see lives transformed, churches established, and communities strengthened through the power of God’s Word.
Our Core Values are grounded in unwavering faith, prayerful dependence, and obedience to God’s Word. We value faithfulness in following God’s call, integrity in ministry and stewardship, love and compassion toward all people, and partnership with the body of Christ to advance the Gospel. We believe that every believer has a role in fulfilling the Great Commission, whether through prayer, giving, or going. United in purpose, we labor together so that all may hear and know the saving grace of our Lord, God, and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Our History
TAMI’s mission began in 2013, when eight believers from the United States traveled to Tabatinga, Brazil, which is located in the Amazon Triple Frontier. This is the geographical area where Brazil, Peru, and Colombia meet. Their purpose was to assess the spiritual and physical needs of the region. Through meetings with local pastors and American missionaries, the foundation for what would become The Amazon Mission, Inc. was laid. This early collaboration built lasting relationships and set the stage for a continuing ministry focused on equipping and training local church leaders to reach their own communities for Christ.
Since that first trip, teams of 5 to 10 volunteers—including American doctors, pastors, teachers, and business professionals from Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Virginia—have traveled annually to the Amazon to monitor progress, provide humanitarian aid, and strengthen ministry partnerships. Although travel was suspended for two years during the COVID-19 pandemic, the mission’s vision remained alive through prayer, financial support, and planning. In response to God’s leading, TAMI was formally established as a nonprofit organization to ensure the mission’s long-term sustainability, growth, and leadership development for future generations of Gospel workers.
